The National Black MBA
Association's Scholarship Program has been in existence since 1985.
Our scholarship program awards scholarships to outstanding minority
students pursuing graduate management/business degrees, while
demonstrating strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to their
communities. This year, the Cleveland Northeast Ohio Chapter plans
to award over $9,000 in scholarships. ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS

Be a minority student
-
Be enrolled in either a part-time or full-time graduate business
or management program in August 2009

Be enrolled in a College or University in the United
States ESSAY: Two page, typed
essay (double spaced, 12 point font) that addresses one of the topics
below:

What recommendations would you give to Business Schools that want
to redesign their recruitment strategies to attract minority
candidates? Once enrolled, what resources or programs should be
offered to help retain minority students?

What can African Americans do to become more marketable in the
global economy? Essays should have a cover
page with essay title and author's name. To accommodate blind review,
ONLY the cover page should contain the author's name. (All
application materials must be submitted in one
envelope) RESUME Include a current
resume. TRANSCRIPT(S) Official
transcripts are required for all college coursework. If you are
entering graduate school in the spring semester of 2010, you must
include your undergraduate transcripts. Transcripts must be
received stamped and sealed. PICTURE: Submit a 3 x 5 digital
photograph to be used in scholarship and NBMBAA publications to
edith.reed@case.edu. CHAPTER'S CORPORATE AND

Be available to attend the Cleveland Chapter Corporate and
Scholarship Award Luncheon on October 23,
2009

Agree to become a member of the Chapter and participate on the
Student Relations committee

SCHOLARSHIP. PLEASE SEE THE NBMBAA WEBSITE FOR
REQUIREMENTS.
Final selection will be based on the applicant's essay, GPA,
extracurricular activities, chapter membership and possible
interview. Be sure to include a telephone number where you can be
reached. Winners will be notified by August 15, 2009. Remember
you are responsible for notifying the NBMBAA office in writing any changes
in your address or telephone number.
